Arsenal are said to be lining up Juventus coach Antonio Conte as a replacement for Arsene Wenger should he decide not to extend his deal with the club at the end of the season, according to Football Direct News.

The Italian tactician has done great work with Juve, whom he also played for during his playing career, winning two Serie A titles in a row and looking set for a third this season after continued dominance in Italy’s top flight.

The 44-year-old has since gained a reputation as one of the brightest young managers in the game right now, with both Manchester United and Monaco said to be keeping tabs on him following doubts over their own managers, but fresh reports are claiming that it is the Gunners who are the keenest.

With Wenger still considering his future at the club, stalling on penning a new deal to see him beyond the end of the season, the club are having to prepare for life without him should he decide to walk away.

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp is also believed to be a leading contender for the role as the Arsenal board weigh up possible alternatives to Wenger, though they are keen to keep the long-serving boss at the club for a little longer.
