Having struggled to come close to justifying his £50m price-tag for the past three years it seems Chelsea flop Fernando Torres still has many admirers at the Nou Camp. Football Direct News claims that a number of Barcelona players would like to see the 30 year old move to the Catalan club.

The former Liverpool man has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge after another disastrous campaign, during which he has managed to net just four goals in 24 Premier League fixtures and a move back to La Liga could be on the cards.

Torres has been linked with his former employers Atletico Madrid but a move to Barcelona may prove even more tempting for Torres and the likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas are said to be behind a campaign to bring the misfiring forward to boost the club’s attacking ranks.

Fernando Torres clearly has no shortage of friends among his Spanish national team and a move to Barcelona could become a reality though a lot depends on just how much the club are willing to fork out for the Blues record signing.

Some sources have claimed such a move could be a loan deal but that wouldn’t appear to be one that would be of that much interest to Chelsea who are no doubt desperate to recoup some portion of the British record fee they spent on the marksman.
