Real Madrid are set to make a mammoth offer for two of Liverpool’s top performers with Bernabeu boss Carlo Ancelotti being given the backing of the club to pursue striker Luis Suarez and playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

CaughtOffside understands that the La Liga side will look to conduct a major squad re-shuffle that would help boost funds ahead of a bid in the region of £125m for the Anfield duo, a bid the Spanish giants feel would be tough for the Merseyside club to ignore.

Ancelotti has been tracking 27 year old Uruguayan Suarez for months and sees the in-form marksman as the ideal man to provide the centre-point of a three pronged attack in between Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, a move the Italian manager feels could tempt the former Ajax man into pushing for a Liverpool exit this summer.

Suarez has only recently signed a lucrative contract that makes him the highest paid player in Liverpool’s history though some have speculated that the deal includes a release clause specifically stating that an offer from Real Madrid or Barcelona could trigger his departure.

The Liverpool ace is not only the Premier League’s top goal-scorer by some distance, having netted 29 goals in 26 appearances, but his total of 11 assists is also the highest in the English top tier.

Brazilian Coutinho has successfully got his career back on track after stagnating at Inter Milan and displays put in by the 21 year old have led to talk of a call-up for a national team he hasn’t represented since his debut cap garnered way back in 2010.

Though Liverpool are very much on the up and up and not only likely to secure a Champions League berth for next term but also look a good bet to clinch a long overdue Premier League title interest from Real Madrid could still potentially turn the heads of the club’s South American duo.

Ancelotti is set to offload a number of players this summer as he continues to put his stamp on the squad he inherited from Jose Mourinho last summer and the club’s president will insist that funds for a £125m bid be at least 50% funded by player sales.

The likes of Iker Casillas, Marcelo, Alvaro Arbeloa Fabio Coentrao, Alvaro Morata, Angel di Maria, Sami Khedira and Spanish starlet Isco could all be set for Real Madrid exit’s and a move for such a re-shuffle will become more likely if Real Madrid fail to secure either a La Liga or Champions League title this term.
