Old Trafford side chase Allianz Arena left-back.
Check in to Manchester United vs Bayern Munich
Man United are to mount a big money move for Bayern Munich youngster David Alaba as David Moyes looks to bring in the Austrian to act as a replacement for veteran Patrice Evra according to Football Direct News.
The 21 year old left-back is now a regular in the Allianz Arena side and is considered one of the hottest prospects in European football and whilst one can well understand why Man United would mount a £25m bid for his services it’s not immediately clear why Alaba would consider a move to Old Trafford.
Alaba made 38 appearances in all competitions last term and played a big part in the Bavarian club’s treble-winning campaign and has once again been pivotal in 2013/14 with new boss Pep Guardiola seeing the starlet as his first choice left-back.
Evra may well be just one of three veteran defenders Moyes has to replace this summer with Nemanja Vidic having already agreed a move to Inter Milan and Rio Ferdinand’s contract set to come to a close at the end of the current campaign.
Moyes has been linked with a number of potential left-back purchases, leaving current back-up option Alexander Buttner seemingly out in the cold.
