Manchester United face a battle to land the signature of Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira after it emerged that he is still wanted by a number of top clubs right across Europe, according to Football Direct News.

The German international came close to leaving the Bernabeu last summer after being linked with a number of clubs, including United and French giants Paris Saint Germain, but a move never materialised and he stayed put in the Spanish capital.
However, he is still being tipped to leave again this time around as has missed the majority of the campaign with a knee injury that has seen him slip further down the packing order at the club.
But despite his fitness concerns, he is still in high demand with United believed to be preparing a return for the 26-year-old, though they will be joined by Fiorentina and Besiktas in the hunt for his signature.
Moyes has viewed Khedira as the ideal man to take over from the ageing Michael Carrick as the side’s resident pass master, but he will have to work hard to convince him to join up with the Red Devils as they look increasingly likely to miss out on Europe next season.
