The experienced France international’s current deal with the Premier League champions runs out at the end of June, although with the attacking full back having featured in 29 matches in the top flight so far this season, the club do have an option that they can take up to keep Evra at Old Trafford for one campaign.

However, the player himself is still said to be undecided about his future though, with Evra’s agent, Federico Pastorello, saying: “Patrice has to decide what to do with his future.

“He is very close to United, but lately things have changed a little.

“Could he come back to Italy? Patrice has always highly regarded Serie A and so, if he were to leave England, it could be a possibility.

“But at the moment it is still too early to talk club about next season.”

Meanwhile, one club that has been linked with the Frenchman, Inter Milan, have confirmed they have not had any contact with Evra as yet about a possible move to San Siro, with the Italian giants’ new owner Erick Thohir saying:  “We’ve never had any negotiations with Evra”.
