The Red Devils have been keeping close tracks on the coveted Germany international since the start of the year when it became public that the 24-year-old was unhappy with his contract situation at the Allianz Arena.
Kroos’s current deal with the Bavarian giants has less than 18 months left to run on it now and there still being no sign of a contract extension in the offing, speculation has been rife of late suggesting that the player could be about to quit the Bundesliga champions this summer.
And now it is understood that United head coach David Moyes is preparing a massive £40m offer for Kroos for when the summer transfer window reopens again on July 1 in an attempt to persuade the European champions to part company with their prize asset.
But despite that bid valuing the player at significantly higher than Kroos’s market value, the noises coming from both the player and the club this week is that Kroos will still be at Bayern next season.
