Arsenal will mount a move to sign Swansea City duo Michu and Wilfried Bony as Arsene Wenger looks to conduct a major attacking re-shuffle this summer.

CaughtOffside understands that the Gunners boss has scouted the Liberty Stadium duo ahead of a summer move that could see the north London club offer as much as £26m for the Spanish and Ivory Coast internationals.

Wenger has overly relied upon Olivier Giroud this season, the 27 year old looking exhausted in recent months, and the Arsenal manager is keen to strengthen his options in the final third and is ready to offload a number of players to help make room for such additions.

German Lukas Podolski will be made available for sale with a move back to the Bundesliga looking likely after a tepid second season in the Premier League and Nicklas Bendtner will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

Wenger will then have to decide upon the futures of handful of impressive youngsters who have done well during loan spells away.

England Under 21 international Benik Afobe is likely to be loaned out again next term though Costa Rican Joel Campbell looks set to be ushered into the Arsenal squad after a phenomenal season at Olympiakos.

Swansea City are struggling at the wrong end of the table and Arsenal are confident they can lure Bony and Michu away from the Welsh club and believe a big enough offer may be accepted by chairman Huw Jenkins.

Bony has proven a success in his first campaign in the English top tier, the marauding striker scoring 22 goals in all competitions and perhaps most tellingly netting against top sides such as Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Man United and Man City.

Cultured attacker Michu may have failed to have hit the same heights as he managed last term but has still proven effective in a more withdrawn role.

The 28 year old may feel a high-profile move would aid his national team career having won his first cap last November.
