CaughtOffside understands that the north London club are alarmed at the rate in which their title challenge fell apart and have taken Arsene Wenger’s subsequent stalling in penning a new deal as an indicator that their time together has come to an end.

Since suffering a heavy 6-0 defeat to Chelsea last month the club were held to draws with Swansea and Manchester City before going down to a surprising 3-0 defeat at the hands of Everton this weekend, and the hierarchy have targeted next week’s FA Cup semi-final with Wigan Athletic as a make or break fixture.

However, they have already made preparations for the worst by approaching Klopp after hearing through a source close to him that he feels he has taken Borussia Dortmund as far as they can go.

After a short period of domination they have once again been eclipsed by Bayern Munich, and with the side due to lose star striker Robert Lewandowski to their arch rivals over the summer he believes that he cannot catch them up again and will seek a new opportunity elsewhere.

A flawless English speaker, Klopp is a known fan of the Premier League and has not rubbished the idea of testing himself in England, and Arsenal believe that the time is right to pounce in order to ensure that there is no dip in quality when Wenger finally leaves.

Arsenal are wary of what has happened to Manchester united following Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure last year and don’t want to see the same happen to them, and they feel that Klopp is the ideal man to prevent that from happening.

Furthermore, Klopp has apparently expressed an interest in bringing Marco Reus and Lukasz Piszczek with him to help keep the club competitive at the top of the table.

The Gunners have previously been linked with both players in the past and with Klopp’s help they may finally be able to end their dreaming and add some renewed quality in time for the new campaign.
