Juventus are ready to stump up £10m in their pursuit of Newcastle United keeper Tim Krul according to the Daily Express.

The Turin giants see the giant Dutch international as a long term replacement for veteran Gianluigi Buffon, who at 36 is no spring chicken.

A move to the Serie A title holders will almost certainly tempt Krul, not least as the Magpies form of late is sure to be something of a concern.

Newcastle United slumped to a 4-0 home defeat to Man United on Saturday, their seventh defeat in ten Premier League fixtures.

A move to Juventus would certainly aid his push for a more prominent role in Louis van Gaal’s national team set-up and clearly Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has no qualms about selling his top performers, indeed his decision to cash in on Yohan Cabaye has directly led to the club’s woeful form in recent months.

Krul moved to St James’ Park in 2005 and has made 139 appearances for the north-east side.
