Liverpool will enter the race to sign Real Madrid playmaker Isco this summer who may well be seen by Brendan Rodgers as a long term replacement for veteran skipper Steven Gerrard.

Football Direct News believes that the Anfield side will join hte likes of Man City, Chelsea and PSG in the race for the 21 year old who is apparently set for a Bernabeu exit.

Isco has had an up and down time of it since moving from Malaga to Real Madrid and with the Spanish giants chasing Sevilla’s Ivan Rakitic there is every chance the attacking midfielder will consider his options at the end of the current campaign.

Rodgers wants to bring in a goal-scoring creative midfielder to complement the likes of Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge and a move for Isco seems a sensible, if ambitious, one to consider.

Isco has started 17 of Real Madrid’s 32 La Liga fixtures and has certainly played a limited role in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting eleven since the turn of the year.

A move for the Real Madrid star may well cost a hefty price though given the La Liga side paid around £25m for the player last June.
