Arsenal will not sack Arsene Wenger this summer even if the north London club fails to win the FA Cup and miss out on a top four finish.

The Independent claim the 64 year old Frenchman will be allowed to decide his own future, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

Wenger has been in charge at Arsenal for 17 years and though the first half of that tenure was peppered with success and silverware the second portion has been the polar opposite.

Arsenal will look to end an eight season long silverware drought as they look to make the most of weak opposition in the latter stages of the FA Cup though their push for a top four finish may prove more problematic after their 3-0 defeat to Everton on the weekend.

Wenger’s side sit in fourth spot but are just one point clear of the Toffees, who crucially have a game in hand.

Many Arsenal fans have questioned Wenger’s decision making in recent months, chiefly in relation to his transfer policy, and one wonders what reception he would receive should he indeed fail to achieve either of the two goals the north London club still looks to attain.
