Galatasaray are willing to sell Wesley Sneijder to Chelsea if they are ready to meet their £12.5m valuation of the Dutch playmaker according to the Daily Star.

The Turkish giants have confirmed that Man United made an ‘indirect’ offer for the 29 year old last summer but would now consider an offer from Stamford Bridge.

Galatasaray president Unal Aysal has publicly spoken of Chelsea’s interest, stating;

“If Chelsea were to offer a deal worth over €15 million (£12.5m) I would give Sneijder permission to leave if that’s what he wanted.”

Jose Mourinho knows Sneijder well from their shared time at Inter Milan where the talented midfielder arguably enjoyed the best season of his career when in 2009/10 he played a pivotal role in the San Siro side’s treble winning campaign.

One does wonder if the Blues boss is in need of yet more creative midfield options but if Mourinho were to lose either Oscar or Eden Hazard this summer, with both being linked with moves to PSG, then Sneijder may well then be a relevant target.

Sneijder has been a big hit since moving to Galatasaray back in January 2013, scoring 17 goals in 51 appearances though is perhaps likely to be more open to leaving the Türk Telekom Arena given that Roberto Mancini’s side are set to lose their Super Lig titles to arch rivals Fenerbahce.
