The Colombian international has seen himself become one of the most sought after frontmen in Europe following his move to Porto from Mexican side Chiapas in 2012.

Speculation over the 27-year-old’s future has become more intense in light of Porto’s domestic struggles this season as they are currently third in the Portuguese league table, 15 points behind leaders and rivals Benfica.

Reports in Italy have suggested that Roma have sounded the player out over a move to the Stadio Olimpico, but his agent, Manuel Manso, has insisted that those talks are wide of the mark.

“At the moment there is not any kind of negotiation for Jackson Martinez,” Manso is quoted as saying.

“Until May we will not talk with any team. He’s focused on the end of the season with Porto – once the championship is finished we will see.”

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is also rumoured to be keeping tabs on the striker as a solution to his striker problems.

The Colombian has scored 18 league goals in 26 games this season and is valued at around £25m.
