The England international started the campaign as a regular in the first team but has seen his place come under threat in recent weeks with David Moyes preferring to go with Michael Carrick, fit-again Darren Fletcher and £27m summer signing Marouane Fellaini instead.

It has been a difficult campaign for the 24-year-old, who suffered the humiliation of seeing an online petition set up calling for his removal from the Three Lions squad prior to last month’s friendly against Denmark.

The Manchester native has been capped 13 times by his country so far with England boss Roy Hodgson continuing to select him despite calls suggesting that he is not doing enough to earn his spot among the country’s elite.

Sources close to the Old Trafford club are suggesting that Stoke and Hull have made repeated enquiries and David Moyes has not sought to dismiss them.

Cleverley is under contract with the club until June 2015 and there has been no talk of a new offering as of yet.
