The France international is expected to make a swift departure from White Heart Lane this summer as the club look due to miss out on qualification for the Champions League and a number of top European sides, such as Paris Saint Germain, are interested in taking him away from north London and giving him his European wish.

However, Spurs are already preparing for that instance and have lined up West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster as their ideal replacement should the Frenchman press ahead with an exit.

Despite West Brom’s troubles this term, Foster has impressed yet again between the sticks and looks set to be part of Roy Hodgson’s squad for this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

The 31-year-old impressed against Spurs this weekend despite conceding three goals, and manager Tim Sherwood even went as far as to proclaim him as the Man-of-the-Match.

Foster has been with Albion since the 2011/12 season and has gone on to make 78 appearances for the club during that time.
