The French right back, 31, is out of contract at the end of this season and his negotiations with the club appeared to have reached stalemate.

Inter Milan have been linked with a move for the France international and the club’s owner, Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir, has admitted he would like Sagna to join Nemnanja Vidic at the San Siro next season.

Man City are also thought to have offered Sagna a bumper contract to remain in the Premier League, an approach Gunners boss Arsene Wenger accused of being ‘illegal’.

However, Di Marzio says ‘everything points’ to Sagna agreeing a new deal at the Emirates Stadium.

The defender joined the Londoners from Auxerre in 2007 and has made nearly 300 appearances since.
