Whilst the 25 year old has consistently struggled to retain a foothold in the Man United starting eleven his chances have become even more limited under David Moyes who has handed Chicharito just five Premier League starts this season.

Hernandez has netted nine goals in all competitions this term, this despite the fact that 20 of his 31 appearances have come from the bench, and now Diego Simeone is looking to bring in the sharp-shooter as a potential replacement for Diego Costa.

The Vicente Calderon goal machine is strongly linked with a move to Chelsea and Simeone will clearly need to bring in an able forward who he can attempt to pair with veteran David Villa and Hernandez may well be the ideal man for the job.

Hernandez has an excellent strike rate at Man United, scoring 59 goals in 148 appearances of which 66 were as a sub.

Moyes will see a number of players leave the club this summer with captain Nemanja Vidic heading to Inter and the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Shinji Kagawa, Nani, Anderson and Alex Buttner among several other players expected to leave.
