West Ham are readying a move to tempt Emanuele Giaccherini into leaving Sunderland for Upton Park according to the Metro.

The Italian international isn’t likely to be keen on plying his trade in the Championship and with the Black Cats seemingly set for the drop a move to east London may just tempt the 28 year old wide-man.

Emanuele Giaccherini is said to have been the subject of interest from a number of Serie A sides, including Genoa and AS Roma, but the winger apparently wants to stay in the English top tier.

At times the former Juventus man has shown real quality and could be seen by Sam Allardyce as the man to help provide more ammunition for forward Andy Carroll.

Emanuele Giaccherini is likely to be part of Cesare Prandelli’s 2014 World Cup squad and is a player who’s value could increase if used to good affect in Brazil so Allardyce is ready to offer £5m for the cultured attacker prior to the finals.

The pint sized Stadium of Light star helped Juventus to back to back Serie A titles before moving to the north-east.
