Having seen the club spend over £50m on flop pair Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado and then seen Jermain Defoe move to MLS side Toronto FC Levy is seemingly ready to invest funds in a new front-man and is willing to offer £20m for the 24 year old England international.

Welbeck has been in the best form of his Old Trafford career this term but is still behind Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney in David Moyes’s pecking order and as such may feel that he may need to leave Man United in order to aid his career progression.

The rangy forward has made just 13 Premier League starts this term but has still managed to net nine goals and is likely to figure in Roy Hodgson’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.

Tottenham are also keen on Chelsea youngster Romelu Lukaku though the Belgian is seemingly not interested in a move to a side that can not offer him Champions League football for next term.
