The man in the middle appeared to be in no danger whatsoever when the Swans’ midfielder Jonjo Shelvey lined up an effort from outside the area.
However, when the Englishman’s fiercely struck shot then struck a Newcastle player and rebounded to safety, it ended up striking the 51-year-old official full on in the face in a moment that the whole crowd in the north east of course found hilarious.
