The highly rated Netherlands international has only recently returned to action following an injury layoff, however, it is understood that Krul is now considering leaving the Magpies at the end of this season.

Krul was devastated to have been omitted from a recent Netherlands squad by boss Louis van Gaal and now fears that he will not be chosen to go to this summer’s World Cup finals as a result, while it is also understood that the shot stopper is keen to play European football again so as to raise his profile across the Continent.

And to that effect, Krul is now pondering a summer exit from the north east, with the likes of Spurs, as well as Serie A champions Juventus and AC Milan all believed to be interested in signing the 26-year-old for next season.

“Tim enjoys playing for Newcastle but at the same time, he wants to win trophies and play at the highest level,” said a source close to the keeper.

“He has some important decisions to make about his future and knows if he did leave, there would be no shortage of clubs wanting to sign him.”
