Arsenal are ready to spend big in their pursuit of a new striker this summer with Football Direct News claiming that the north London club will make an offer for PSG forward Edinson Cavani.

The Emirates Stadium side believe they can persuade the Uruguayan to leave the Parc des Prince and will offer a big fee for the 27 year old, who only moved to the French capital last summer.
PSG paid £55m for Cavani and will not accept a fee less than what they paid Napoli though Arsenal will look to use fringe players in part exchange in an attempt to keep the price down.
Cavani scored 104 goals in three season in Naples before moving to PSG where he has played second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, used frequently in a wide role that perhaps doesn’t suit his style of play.
Though the 24 year old has netted 24 goals in all competitions he has tellingly scored just three times in Ligue 1 in 2014 and is said to be unsettled at the club.
Wenger is keen to strengthen his attack and will look to bring in options to support overworked Frenchman Olivier Giroud and a move for Cavani would significantly improve the Arsenal attack.
