White Hart Lane side chase striker who is certainly surplus to requirements at Anfield.
Having spent over £50m to bring in flop forwards Roberto Soldado and Erik Lamela it appears that White Hart Lane chairman Daniel Levy is looking to bring in cheaper options to boost the club’s ailing attack this summmer.
Football Direct News claim Tottenham are to make a move for Liverpool forward Fabio Borini, who is currently out on loan at Sunderland.

The 23 year old has performed well for the relegation threatened Black Cats but has been by no means prolific, managing just seven goals in 38 appearances of which three were from the penalty spot.
Borini secured a move to Liverpool after a solid season at AS Roma but is now definitely surplus to requirements at Anfield and the Premier League table toppers may well accept cut-price offers for the Italian international, who cost them £10m in July 2012.
Tottenham have been indebted to Emmanuel Adebayor who has shouldered the goal-scoring burden excellently since being recalled to the starting eleven by Tim Sherwood. Youngster Harry Kane shows good potential but the addition of another forward makes a great deal of sense and no doubt the north London club will look to offload either Soldado or Lamela at the end of the season.
Stoke City v Tottenham Hotspur
Stoke City HOME WIN (3.20)
“Stoke have been on good form, but a lot of people will back Tottenham raising a blind eye to Stoke’s amazing home form. Stoke in their last 6 games at the Britannia have W5 1D including wins against Man Utd and Arsenal.
Meanwhile Tottenham have failed to win in their last 4 away games! ”
