San Siro giants want Stamford Bridge striker.

Inter Milan are readying a move to sign Chelsea forward Fernando Torres according to TuttoMercato.

It’s a move that may well be welcomed by both the Blues and the Spanish international but the success of any bid from the San Siro depends greatly on just how little of the initial £50m outlay owner Roman Abramovich is willing to recoup.

Inter Milan have already agreed a deal to bring in Nemanja Vidic and appear keen to bring in further experienced additions to their squad but may well look to land 30 year old Chelsea man Torres ‘on the cheap’.

The former Liverpool man has been woeful since moving to Chelsea, scoring just 19 goals in 108 Premier League appearances, and the chance to re-ignite his ailing career in Italy may prove tempting.

A move back to La Liga could also be an option the World Cup winner would entertain and one imagines that any offer of £15m plus would be accepted by Chelsea.

Torres is currently on a run of 12 games without a goal, a run he could perhaps have ended had he not opted to lay on an assist for Willian during Chelsea’s 2-0 win at Anfield on Sunday.
