The Anfield manager may feel he could do with bringing in another top striker to help support Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez and this source claims that QPR forward Remy could be available for £10m, the fee required to trigger the French international’s release clause.

Rodgers does not have much quality beyond the free-scoring pair as evidenced yesterday when the Northern Irishman was forced to throw on ineffective Spaniard Iago Aspas against Chelsea, the summer signing is still yet to score his first Premier League goal.

Remy has more than proven himself at Premier League level, netting six goals in 13 starts for QPR last term and racking up 13 goals in 22 starts during his season long loan spell at Newcastle United.

There are bound to be no shortage of offers for the 27 year old with Man United, Marseille and Tottenham also said to be interested in Remy, who is likely to feature in Didier Deschamps’ 2014 World Cup squad.
