The 27 year old has had an excellent first season in Spain, scoring 19 goals in all competitions, and is the subject of growing interest though one wonders if Man United need to bring in fresh striking options given the host of talents the club can currently call upon.

A move for Bacca would presumably only be relevant if the club were to consider the sale of one of their quartet of forwards, with perhaps Danny Welbeck or Javier Hernandez both being unhappy with the lack of regular first team football with Wayne Rooney and sidelined Dutchman Robin Van Persie clearly Man United’s first choice starters.

Bacca moved to Sevilla last summer after a strong season in Belgium with Club Brugge and is likely to figure in Colombia’s 2014 World Cup finals squad, especially if Radamel Falcao fails to recover from his long term injury concerns.

Sevilla sold a number of big names last summer in order to balance the books with the likes of Alvaro Negredo, Jesus Navas, Luis Alberto and Gary Medel all moving to the Premier League and they now face the prospect of losing star performers Ivan Rakitic and Alberto Moreno as well as Bacca.
