Arsenal are readying a £12m bid for Belgian teenager Divock Origi according to Football Direct News.

Arsene Wenger has had the Lille man scouted on a number of occasions this term and has been sufficiently impressed to prepare a bid for the forward.

The north London club will look to boost the number of options Wenger can call upon in the final third, offering overworked French forward Olivier Giroud some much needed support.

Both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott have missed significant chunks of the current campaign through injury and this has exacerbated the issue to the extent that Danish flop Nicklas Bendtner earned a recall to the first team set-up.

Origi is into his second season at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy side and has scored six goals in 14 starts this term and is on the fringes of a first senior Belgian national team cap.

Of course if Wenger wants to beef up his attacking options he could opt to draft Joel Campbell into the Arsenal squad, with the Costa Rican international having spent the past three season out on loan.

The 21 year old is having an excellent season at Olympiakos, helping the Athens side to a domestic title whilst also impressing in Champions League action.
