The Serbia international has once again shared the left-back role at Eastlands this season with Frenchman Gael Clichy, and now the Serie A giants are understood to be keen to try to lure  Kolarov to the Italian capital when the summer transfer window reopens for business.

City actually signed Kolarov from Roma’s fierce city rivals Lazio for a whopping £16m back four year ago, however, the Romans may find it hard to persuade the attacking full back to join them next season as they will struggle to be able to match the wages the 28-year-old is currently earning in the north west.

However, with Kolarov very nearly leaving City to return to Italy last summer, before the eventual departure of former manager Roberto Mancini, there is hope that the player can be convinced to make the move.

“Last season I didn’t play a lot or I played one game and then I didn’t play for the next three and it was difficult for me,” Kolarov said recently.

Roma, however, are not the only club said to be interested in signing the Serb, with the likes of Serie A champions Juventus, AC ,Milan, Inter Milan and AS Monaco are also understood to be preparing offers for Kolarov come the end of the campaign.
