The exciting Netherlands international was part of the Bayern side that were thrashed 4-0 by Real Madrid in the second leg of their own Champions League semi-final at the Allianz Arena to crash out of Europe’s premier club competition 5-0 on aggregate on Tuesday night.

And when asked about his views on Wednesday evening’s second-leg clash between the west London club and the La Liga leaders, Robben was scathing about the first encounter between the two teams at the Vicente Calderon last Tuesday, a match which ended in a goalless draw.

“I don’t really care. I watched the 90 minutes last week and I couldn’t watch it. The match had nothing to do with football,” said Robben after the holders had been eliminated from the European Cup.

“I respect the two managers [Jose Mourinho and Diego Simeone] and everybody has their own way, but I think Real Madrid will win the Champions League and I wish them all the best.”
