Chelsea Strike Deal To Sign Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa For £32m

La Liga goal machine to move to Stamford Bridge for £32m this summer.

Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa’s much-discussed summer move to Chelsea is a “done deal”, according to The Sun.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has spoken openly about his desire to bolster his striking options and Costa, who has scored 35 goals in 41 club games this season, appears to be his top target.

The 25-year-old is enjoying a fine campaign with Atletico and it could end with him getting his hands on two pieces of major silverware.

Costa got on the scoresheet as Atletico, who are the favourites to win La Liga, beat Chelsea 3-1 on Wednesday night to book their place in the Champions League final, where they will meet city rivals Real Madrid.

Earlier this week, Costa said that multiple offers had been made for his services, but insisted that he was focused on finishing the season on a high with Atletico.

However, reports in The Sun claim that Costa has already agreed to move to Stamford Bridge for a transfer fee of £32m, which is said to be the value of the buyout clause in his contract.

Costa’s arrival would probably signal the end for one or more of Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba at Chelsea.

Eto’o is out of contract this summer, while Torres and Ba have just over two years left to run on their respective deals.
