Premier League champions Manchester United are set to officially unveil the Netherlands national team head coach Louis van Gaal as their new manager next week, with the Dutchman having agreed a two-year deal at Old Trafford to take over from the recently sacked David Moyes in the north west next season according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The Red Devils parted company with the Scot last week after a poor run of results had left the Premier League giants languishing down in an unfamiliar seventh place in the table and with no chance of finishing the campaign in the top four positions, meaning no Uefa Champions League football at the Theatre of Dreams next season for the first time since 1995.

And now after several days of face-to-face negotiations in Van Gaal’s holiday home in Portugal, a deal has finally been reached between the two parties, with the 62-year-old all set to put pen to paper on a two-year contract at Old Trafford, with the option of a further 12 months on top of that should both sides agree.
