Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho says that the Reds will be able to keep their cool during the title run-in, despite their slip-up at home to rivals Chelsea last weekend, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The Merseyside giants were beaten 2-0 by the west London club at Anfield in the Premier League last Sunday afternoon to blow the race for the title wide open, with Liverpool now just two points ahead of the second-placed Blues with now just two league fixtures left to play this season, while third-in-the-table Manchester City can even move ahead of the Reds on goal difference if they win at Everton on Saturday.

However, the France international is still extremely confident that he and his team-mates will finish the campaign at the top of the table by winning their final two Premier League contests of the season, starting with Monday night’s tricky-looking trip to take on mid-table Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

“‘Everything is going well, we are fine. Everything is cool,” said the centre back.

“We have to remain calm and relaxed. Like I said, everything is going well, even though we lost that game. But that defeat, it’s in the past now, it’s behind us.

“We now have to focus on what’s ahead of us, meaning the next two games. And we mustn’t change anything, we should remain true to ourselves and play our own game and then try and win those two matches so we can grab those six points.”

Sakho, 24, has so far managed to feature in 17 Premier League matches for the Merseysiders this season following his £19m move for Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain on transfer deadline day last summer.
