Chelsea are closing in on deals to sign two of Atletico Madrid’s top performers as part of Jose Mourinho’s extensive squad shake-up according to the Daily Telegraph.

Mourinho’s interest in striker Diego Costa has long been known but he’s seemingly not the only member of the Vicente Calderon side he wants to bring to Stamford Bridge this summer with left-back Filipe Luis is another talent he wants to wrestle from Diego Simeone’s clutches.

The 28 year old Brazilian is set to cost the Blues £16.5m and will act as a long term replacement for veteran Ashley Cole, with Cesar Azpilicueta seemingly set to revert to his usual right-back role next season.

Chelsea will trigger Costa’s release clause with a £31.5m bid that will see the west London club greatly improve their faltering attack.

To help clear the way for Costa Mourinho will look to sell Fernando Torres and Demba Ba whilst Samuel Eto’o will leave when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

Brazilian born Spanish international Costa has netted 36 goals in all competitions this season and will no doubt command a massive pay-rise if he does indeed secure a move to Chelsea.
