Rodgers will be handed £60m to invest in his pursuit of new signings and has earmarked moves for six players, including four England internationals, in what may prove a very busy transfer window for the Northern Irish boss.

Though Liverpool have scored goals for fun they have found it harder to keep out the opposition so it’s no surprise that a number of defensive options area among the club’s targets with Rodgers looking to bring in Cardiff City captain Steven Caulker, who he worked with at Swansea City, Argentine Marcos Rojo, Southampton teen Luke Shaw as well as Man City bit-part player Micah Richards.

Rodgers also wants to bring in talented England international Adam Lallana who could well be seen as a long term replacement for Steven Gerrard.

Liverpool also continue to chase January target Yevhen Konoplyanka as Rodgers looks to bring in further wide-attacking options with loaned in Chelsea man Victor Moses failing to persuade the Merseyside club he is worth pursuing on a permanent basis.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to see his Liverpool side progress and a series of top quality additions could help add some much needed strength in depth as they look to battle on multiple fronts next season.
