Man United’s hopes of securing Barcelona pair Cesc Fabregas and Pedro have been greatly improved with Football Direct News claiming that the Nou Camp side will allow the duo to move to Old Trafford.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu and sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta are planning a major squad overhaul and the likes of Fabregas and Pedro, as well as Alexis Sanchez and Dani Alves are set to be sacrificed, no doubt attracting a great deal of interest in top talents who no longer have futures at the Catalan club.

Man United have been linked with a host of midfield additions and Fabregas’s proven Premier League record will make him all the more likely to interest whomever permanently succeeds David Moyes as the club’s manager.

Pedro is seen as a possible replacement for Portugueuse winger Nani, who is said to have already agreed a move to Juventus, and it’s a move that the Tenerife born attacker may feel will re-ignite a career that has perhaps stuttered at Barcelona in recent seasons.

One wonders if Gerardo Martino will be retained as Barcelona boss given that he is likely to preside over a trophy-less first season in charge of the La Liga outfit.
