Barcelona are set to appoint former player Luis Enrique as their new boss according to Football Direct News.

The 43 year old will apparently replace Tata Martino in charge of the Nou Camp side following a two-hour meeting with sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta.

Martino’s debut season looks likely to end without any silverware and as such it’s perhaps no huge surprise that Barcelona will look to replace the Argentine.

Enrique is currently head coach at Celta Vigo after a none to successful season in charge of AS Roma led to a return to his native Spain last June.

Luis Enrique spent eight seasons at Barcelona as a player after making the contentious move from Real Madrid to the Catalan club back in 1996.
