The fleet-footed winger has spent the season on loan at the Britannia Stadium from the Reds, where he has been afforded the chance to play some regular first team football despite suffering with a disruptive injury.

Assaidi admits to having thoroughly enjoyed his time at Stoke and would be willing to discuss an extended stay if an agreement can be reached with his parent club.

“I don’t know yet what my future is, but I say always that I’m very happy at Stoke. The manager believes in me, that’s what I need,” he said.

“He started me against Fulham and I’m very happy I scored and got man of the match as well because if you don’t play for seven weeks that’s very nice.

“I didn’t hear the fans singing ‘sign him up’ but that’s nice that they believe in me and I’m very happy that the fans were singing that.

“I don’t know what I can say about it because I’m still under contract at Liverpool and I have to go back, but I’m very happy, we’ll see what happens.

“We will see what Liverpool say. If they say there’s no chance to play there then Stoke is a good option.”
