Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is looking to strengthen an attack that currently overly relies upon French international Olivier Giroud and has set his sights on Brazilian Hulk, who has long been linked with a move to the Premier League.

The 27 year old made a name for himself during a goal leaden spell at FC Porto and after an average first campaign the powerful marksman has found his feet in the Russian Premier League, scoring 20 goals in all competitions this season to help his side to the top of the table.

Hulk may well be tempted by a move to London and a high-profile switch could well aid his push for a prominent role in Felipe Scolari’s national team set-up.

Wenger has had to deal with significant injury issues with both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott this term, which has led to Giroud being used at every opportunity which in turn led to the 27 year old appearing exhausted and experiencing something of a mid-season slump.

Hulk scored 78 goals in four seasons at FC Porto, helping the Portuguese side to four Primeira Liga titles and a Europa League triumph.
