West Ham United head coach Sam Allardyce is hoping to be able to lure out-of-favour Chelsea front man Demba Ba from Stamford Bridge to Upton Park for next season, according to reports in the Sun.

The tall Senegal international has largely found himself being surplus to requirements at the west London club so far in this campaign by returning Blues boss Jose Mourinho, with Ba spending the majority of the season warming the substitutes bench rather than getting much game time on the field of play.

In fact in total to date Ba has managed to feature in just the 29 matches in all competitions for Chelsea under the self-styled Special One, of which only 19 have come in the Premier League, despite the fact that during that time the 28-year-old has registered eight goals and three assists along the way, including five strikes in the top flight.

However, despite those impressive goalscoring numbers, the Portuguese trainer has still decided that Ba can be allowed to leave the club when the summer transfer window reopens for business, with the striker set to re-join the Hammers for next season.
