The England international’s current deal with the west London club runs out at the end of June and as yet, Cole has still to be offered a new contract to extend his eight-year stay at Stamford Bridge into the next campaign, meaning that the player will be available to pick up on a lucrative Bosman-style free transfer later this summer.

And it is understood that a number of big-name clubs from both the Premier League and across the globe are all pondering making a move for Cole, including the likes of champions elect Manchester City, Liverpool and Major League Soccer franchise the New York Red Bulls.

However, none of those teams will be able to match the offer that Monaco are set to put on the table shortly for Cole to consider, with the Ligue 1 runners-up to hand the 33-year-old a lucrative two-year contract matching his current salary at the Blues of £120,000 per week, which works out at a whopping £12m with the full back not having to pay any taxes on his earnings in the Principality.
