The powerful Belgium international is about to come to the end of his season-long loan spell with Premier League high-flyers Everton, where Lukaku’s goals have helped to fire the Merseyside giants into next season’s Uefa Europa League with a fifth-place finish in this campaign’s top flight.

In total, Lukaku has managed to register an impressive 14 goals and eight assists in his 32 league outings for the Toffees under the watchful guidance of new head coach Roberto Martinez at Goodison Park,

However, Lukaku is still expected to return to his parent club in west London after Sunday’s final Premier League encounter of the season, although whether the 20-year-old will remain with the Blues into the following campaign still very much remains to be seen, as the player’s agent has revealed.

“For the moment, Romelu belongs to Chelsea,” representative Christope Henrotay said.

“He has two years left on his contract. It’s going to depend on Chelsea.

“After that, we’ll see together what the best options are if Chelsea decide to let him go.

“That they want to bring in a big-name striker has been well-documented.

“But Chelsea need lots of great strikers. And if there are too many, they’ll choose to allow Romelu to leave.

“But if they think there aren’t enough forwards, perhaps Romelu will say, ‘I’m interested in prolonging the adventure.

“But it’s still too soon.”
