Liverpool are ready to offer the services of Spanish pair Luis Alberto and Jose Enrique in their pursuit of Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana according to Football Direct News.

Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers had been linked with a £20m offer for the in-form England man but may feel that the inclusion of two players into the bargain could tempt Mauricio Pochettino into selling one of his prized assets.

The 25 year old may be seen by Rodgers as a long term replacement for veteran skipper Steven Gerrard an Lallana has certainly displayed the level of form that would suggest he could impress at the highest level, form that is likely to secure him a spot in Roy Hodgson’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.

Lallana has helped the Saints battle their way from League One to the top half of the Premier League and would surely be keen on a move to Liverpool.

Pochettino may struggle to keep hold of the nucleus of his over-achieving side and therefore the addition of players into the deal would at least offer him cover and one imagines Jose Enrique could be seen as a replacement for Luke Shaw, with the teenager strongly linked with a St Mary’s exit.

Lallana has scored nine goals and provided six assists in Premier League action alone this term.
