Liverpool bid to bring Southampton playmaker to Anfield with ambitious summer transfer bid.
Liverpool have made a bid to sign Southampton attacking midfielder Adam Lallana, reports BBC Radio Solent.
The Saints skipper has had a superb season for his club, and with nine goals and six assists, he has dictated many of his team’s attacks, setting up the most shooting opportunities of any player in his team.
Having broken into the England squad this season, Lallana appears a certainty to go to this summer’s FIFA World Cup with Roy Hodgson’s Three Lions, and could even be a part of the starting XI.

The 26 year-old’s versatility is one of his best qualities, with his comfort on either foot making him a threat on both flanks and in central attacking midfield.
“I’m ambitious. I want to one day play in the Champions League,” said Lallana in his captain’s notes in the Southampton programme for the Manchester United game, and it would appear that Liverpool are set to grant him that opportunity.
Brendan Rodgers’ side had a brilliant campaign domestically, coming close to claiming the Premier League title, but the Reds require additional squad depth if they are to challenge both on the home front and in Europe.
Lallana could be the first signing of an ambitious summer.
