Check in to Colombia vs Greece

Arsenal have been given a clear path in pursuit of FC Porto’s Jackson Martinez following Chelsea’s successful capture of Diego Costa.

Football Direct News believe that Arsene Wenger will look to land the Colombian forward to help boost his threadbare attack.

Martinez has proven a big hit since moving to Europe, scoring 58 goals in 86 appearances for Portuguese giants FC Porto but having seen his side lose their Primeira Liga crown the powerful forward may well be keen to make a move to the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger has been overly reliant on French forward Olivier Giroud this term and the injuries suffered by both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott, that restricted the pair to just 24 Premier League starts between them, meant that the Gunners boss was very short of effective options in the final third.

Martinez would cost a fairly big sum but having smashed the club’s transfer record to bring in £42.5m German Mesut Ozil it’s clear that if needed Wenger has the funds to splash on much needed squad improvements.
