The recently called up France international has just enjoyed yet another highly impressive campaign sitting in front of the Saints back four, ably protecting the south-coast club’s defence thanks to excellent positioning and timing of his challenges.
The defensive midfielder managed to feature in 33 Premier League contests for high-flying Southampton last time out, during which time Schneiderlin found the back of the net on two occasions, as well as also creating an assist too.
And as a result of those eye-catching displays at St Mary’s, both Napoli and the north London club are now set to go head to head for Schneiderlin’s signature when the summer transfer window does reopen for business.
However, with the 24-year-old currently contracted to the Saints until June 2017, Schneiderlin will not come cheap for either side to buy for next season, although the lure of playing in the UEFA Champions League for either club in the new campaign is expected to be enough to convince the player to quit Southampton this summer.
