The 35-year-old is set to end his 12-year association with the club this summer after being told that he would not be offered a new deal to stay as his current deal expires on July 1st.

A collection of Major League Soccer sides including LA Galaxy are believed to be interested in signing the former West Ham and Leeds centre-back, as well as Turkish sides Besiktas and Galatasaray.

However, Ferdinand may yet decide to stay in the Premier League after a host of sides had been linked with his signature, including top four rivals Arsenal.

“In the coming days I will start to think about my next step and make a decision on what will happen,” he said.

“I haven’t had much time to do that yet since the season ended. I’ve been able to get away from the hype and enjoy my time.”
