The transfers in and out of White Hart Lane in the close season.

It has been an odd season for Tottenham Hotspur in 2013/14, with things starting brightly with over £110m being spent on new players, before two managers were sacked.

The disappointment of the world record £85.3m transfer of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid seemed to have been dampened by the arrival of the likes of Erik Lamela, Paulinho and Roberto Soldado.

However, results were poor early on and in the end it cost Andre Villas-Boas his job as boss in December 2013, replaced by former Spurs midfielder Tim Sherwood.

Yet Sherwood also rubbed chairman Daniel Levy up the wrong way and went the same way as AVB once the campaign was concluded, which means whoever takes over has a task on their hands.

Changes to the squad are expected this summer and here are five transfers in and five out of White Hart Lane.

Players out

Heurelho Gomes

After six years with the club the inconsistent but popular goalkeeper will not be offered a new contract and therefore is definitely leaving Spurs in 2014.

Getting the Brazilian off the wage bill can only be a good things as Gomes has fallen to third in the pecking order for the Lily Whites.
