Ligue 1 runners up swoop for English wide man.

AS Monaco are close to sealing a deal to sign former Liverpool winger Tom Ince from Blackpool, according to the Sunday People.

The 22-year-old, who spent the second half of the season on loan at Crystal Palace, is out of contract this summer.

Ince had looked poised to join Serie A giants Inter Milan, but mega-rich Monaco appear to have pinched him.

Inter Milan will be in the Europa League next season, having finished fifth in Italy’s top division.

Meanwhile, Monaco will dine at Europe’s top table after booking a place in the Champions League by coming second in France’s Ligue 1.

Ince has scored three goals in 13 Under-21 appearances for England.

He netted one goal and provided one assist in eight Premier League games for Palace.

Ince began his career at Liverpool, but he left the Reds to join Blackpool in August 2011 after making just one first-team appearance for the Anfield club.

He has played 113 senior games for Blackpool, scoring 33 goals.

A host of clubs, including Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Newcastle United, Stoke City, Hull City and Sunderland, have reportedly shown an interest in Ince this summer.
