The Gunners burst out of the blocks at the beginning of the campaign, but found themselves in a slump around Christmas that they failed to recover from.

The dip in form meant that their league title credentials fell away, but they ended the season on a positive note by clocking up an FA Cup victory and qualifying for the Champions League in the process.

And Ramsey, who began the season in explosive form himself, believes that the club did well to get their season back on track as it came to a close.

“I believe [we have made progress],” he told his club’s official site.

“We had a great start to the season and a couple of hiccups after Christmas.

“Then we got back on track and finished off strong. I definitely think that we’ve taken a big step forward.”

Ramsey bagged himself 10 goals in 23 games for the Gunners this term, but saw a large part of his season robbed once again by injury.
